If the built-in color library isn't enough for you to display your products correctly, you have the option of adding the desired color for your products yourself.
To do this, follow the instructions below.
- If you know the HEX code of your color, go to step 2. If you don't know it, you can determine it using various color pickers. For example, this one. You can pick up the color manually or choose from the suggested tables. Your color name (let`s take as an example the "dark salmon" color) and its HEX code should look like this: dark salmon #E9967A.
- Go to theme customization and open the “Theme settings” section.
- Find the "Color Swatches" section and click on it.
- In the "Color Swatches" window, add the color you want strictly in the lowercase and colon-delimited format “color name:hex color code”. For example, “dark salmon:#E9967A”. Enter one color per line.
Congratulations, the theme now "understands" what color you added. To add this color to your product, go to the Products section, and in the product card add an option with this color.
Image as a color
It is possible to use an image as a color.
To do that, upload an image in the Files section. We recommend using a 128x128 PNG or JPG image.
In the "Color Swatches" window, add the color you want strictly in the lowercase and colon-delimited format “color name:file name with extension”. For example, “python:python.png”.
